Match Sticks Week 3

On the 30th of April we did some maths and it was about Match Sticks, we had to get 50 Match Sticks and make our name.  We could choose that we could do our name 1 metre long or 20 cm tall.  I chose 1 metre long because I wondered if one metre long would be easier.
Once I got my match sticks, I went to my table and made 1 metre and then I made my R, and then I made it too big and and then I shortened it and then it was good.  After that I made my U and it was perfect how I made it.  After I made my u I done my B and it was way too big in the length and then I took a match stick off and it looked good. My last letter was Y, finally I had done it and I still had space at the end.  So I asked Mrs Miller if I could put an L in because I'm Ruby.L, and Mrs Miller said "Yes you can".  So I went back to my name and did an L and then I was done.
The learning in the activity was about measuring accurately, you have to make sure that your ruler is straight that you have a good starting point and a good finishing point. The number learning in the activity was you had to count up how many yellows. Count up how many purple, green and red. Then this is the learning, say that there were 5 yellow Match Sticks and on the page it said that the yellow cost $10. This is the learning 10 x 5 = $50 or 5 x 10 =.$50.

Here is a picture of my Match Sticks.
