Giraffe Enclosure

My Creature is a Giraffe

Some things I needed to consider about my creature:
I needed lots of room for my pet to run around ( Because it’s a fast runner )
Grass for The outside area so It would look like where  it might live ( Jungle )
Feijoas for It to eat ( Not starving to death )
Trees for oxygen so then they stay alive.
Giraffes like to stretch so I need to have something that they can stretch up to.
My enclosure has these special features for my pet:
Feijoas hang from the ceiling ( Working for food ).
A BIG water bowl for drinking.
Soft Bed so it’s not hard ( Won’t get any bed injuries ( Like Neck Hurts )
I also needed tall walls for my pet because Giraffes have long necks and they can’t be cramped in there own Enclosure.
Grass and Leaves so then it felt like their actual home ( In the Jungle ).

What I am pleased about:
The Feijoas  because I made they work for their food so then they won’t get bored eating their food, Like the bit that I’m pleased about is how the Feijoes are tied to the ceiling ( and how it worked .)
The bed because like if I was sleeping in it, would be comfortable so it would also be comfortable for the Giraffe .
I’m also pleased about how the Enclosure turned out because I actually thought that  it would turn out worse.
I also am pleased how I got absorbed in learning. Because then I didn’t want to stop.
What I would like to improve:
The Outside area because there is like Nothing in the outside area for it to play with.  Except  for the Swing/ String hanging from the roof.
Also the trees because there is only 4 -5 leaves on the trees.

Here are some Photo’s :

Bear Attack - Week 11

Bear Attack!!!
One day when my class was doing art... My class saw a BEAR outside the window.  Henrietta came to my class from going to the loo, and the bear had followed her without Henrietta knowing. But  the bear made a noise and scared Henrietta and she SCREAMED like a boy, so Henrietta started running.
Once Henrietta went up the stairs of the ramp, the bear tripped up and so she had time to get inside. When Henrietta got to the door she started banging on the door but it wasn't open, then she broke the door handle so Mrs Miller got the keys and opened the door and locked it when Henrietta came inside.
After that Mrs Miller saw the bear and fainted. The kids and I went happily back to our art BUT the bear broke the glass and so the kids and I ran as fast as we could to room 11 with Mrs Miller.  The door was open, what a relief that was.
So we ran into room 11 and Mrs Lowe locked the door as fast as she could so we would be safe.
The bear was like " O damet," and went to room 11's door but the glass was smash proof so the bear couldn't get in.
"Finally we are safe!" I said.
"What a relief!" said Henrietta.
But then the bear came the other way and opened the door from room 12.  Room 11 went out of the class and room 11 and 12 ran really fast to the office with Mrs Miller and Mrs Lowe and so we put the message on the speaker and said " Everyone there is a BEAR going around the school so don't go outside k."
But there was a class outside doing P.E, they didn't see the bear. When the teacher was talking the bear came up behind her and scared the kids. So the kids ran away to their class, and the bear ate the teacher. So when we were in the office they couldn't deliver lunch orders so we had them.  (That was the best garlic bread I have EVER had)
WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!

Project Based Learning

Project Based Learning Blog post

Step One
Selecting a context
Lost in the Bush
Save the Bush
Fun in the Bush
Step Two & Three
Create questions and identify one broad question

How would you contact people when you are lost in bush?
Step Four
What did I already know about my question?
  1. You would have no cellphone coverage
  2. Lose battery life and  you wouldn’t be able charge it
  3. Dove
  4. Get a mirror and reflect It off the sun
Step Five
Design your creation
IMG_0063.JPG
Smoke Signal
It was tricky to find a topic because what we already knew we couldn’t make and we didn’t have the right materials
Step Six
Build your creation and write something about it
Ruby and Jack's PBL.JPG
Morse Code If it has - long line. Then u do a long pull out.( Like the first one on G). If there is a . It’s a short/little pull out ( Like the first one one A).
You can do the Morse code with Lights, Flags, Beeping noises and Using the smoke signal.
Step Seven
Reflection
How did it go? It went really good because everything went how it was meant to go. Accepted the wood not going in the right place
What went well? Morse Code, Sort of painting and the bit where u put the burning liquid in.
What was a challenge? Getting the wood in the right place and screwing through the whiteboard
Step Eight
Evaluate
What would you change next time? Don’t paint It because Me and Jack both agreed that we won’t paint it next time or just a different color
What would you improve next time? Try not to get big drips on the sides
Feedback - ask some other children what they thought?
Henri = I like how you stuck the Morse code on because it is really helpful in case someone actually used it so good job
Kalae = I like how you  have put in how the Morse code works.
Charlotte =  I love the Morse code  and the materials you used .
Livy = I like it how you have put the Morse code in because it is really helpful.

Cry Baby

Cry Baby

I Ate a Cry baby
My Family Dared me
Wasn’t sour for a minute
And then fell in the sea

I squinted the whole time
It Steamed My Ears
I sprinted to the Fridge
Then broke into tears

Tears poured like rivers from my eyes
Then I had to Shout
My tongue was swelling up fast
It would of been better if I went without

“ I want another one”

Kayaking was SOOOOOOOOO fun because sometimes Bevan pulled you back where you began.
This is my dad he was helping with the Kayaks making sure that people didn’t crash into the bushes.
