Information about this person’s childhood:

Lorde’s place of birth is Takapuna / Auckland. Lorde was also raised in Devonport

She became interested in music and then decided to make music / songs.

Lorde’s birthday is on November 7th in 1996 ( Age 18 ).

Her height is 1.65 meters.

Lorde’s parents name is called Sonja Yelich and Vic O'Connor.

Lorde went to Belmont intermediate school.

Her albums are Pure Heroine, The Love Club EP, Live In Concert.

Information about this person’s accomplishments:

Lorde became a musician by listening to songs when she was a little kid. She writes songs (Music) like Royals, Yellow flicker, Team, Tennis Court and Everybody wants to rule the world. The Washington Post said " Lorde is the first woman in 17 years to top Billboard's Alternative Chart."

Why is this person important:

She is famous because of her music that she has written and performed. Lorde won the grammy Awards for her single song “Royals,” It was the Best pop solo performance and the song of the Year ( In 2014 )

Art Trail - #Year 4

ART TRAIL!!!

On Thursday the 27th of August, we went on an art trail with Room 11 and Room 10.  My group was Sienna J , Shontae, Emma J and I. In our group we had to have an adult, our adult's name was Eva. The art trail was when you went around town and answered questions. I think there were about 17 questions ( We didn't get them all right -but it was still fun ) Some questions were near paper plus and some were near my mum and dad's shop ( Cafe at Westermans ) 
I think the hardest question was to count how many triangles there were painted on the ground because my team got 27 and other teams got like 50 and I think the answer was like 49 (I don't know )
I really liked the art trail because we got to go around town and answer hard and easy questions. Another thing I liked about the art trail was the people who I was with, we worked together as a team and didn't leave anyone out.

Bear Attack - Week 11

Bear Attack!!!
One day when my class was doing art... My class saw a BEAR outside the window.  Henrietta came to my class from going to the loo, and the bear had followed her without Henrietta knowing. But  the bear made a noise and scared Henrietta and she SCREAMED like a boy, so Henrietta started running. 
Once Henrietta went up the stairs of the ramp, the bear tripped up and so she had time to get inside. When Henrietta got to the door she started banging on the door but it wasn't open, then she broke the door handle so Mrs Miller got the keys and opened the door and locked it when Henrietta came inside. 
After that Mrs Miller saw the bear and fainted. The kids and I went happily back to our art BUT the bear broke the glass and so the kids and I ran as fast as we could to room 11 with Mrs Miller.  The door was open, what a relief that was. 
So we ran into room 11 and Mrs Lowe locked the door as fast as she could so we would be safe. 
The bear was like " O damet," and went to room 11's door but the glass was smash proof so the bear couldn't get in. 
"Finally we are safe!" I said.
"What a relief!" said Henrietta.
 But then the bear came the other way and opened the door from room 12.  Room 11 went out of the class and room 11 and 12 ran really fast to the office with Mrs Miller and Mrs Lowe and so we put the message on the speaker and said " Everyone there is a BEAR going around the school so don't go outside k."

But there was a class outside doing P.E, they didn't see the bear. When the teacher was talking the bear came up behind her and scared the kids. So the kids ran away to their class, and the bear ate the teacher. So when we were in the office they couldn't deliver lunch orders so we had them.  (That was the best garlic bread I have EVER had)

Country Life is better than City Life! - Term 3 Week 4

WALT persuade other students to agree with our opinion.  This is the purpose for my writing.

Success Criteria:

1. I plan for a writing task
2. I write a variety of sentence lengths with different sentence starters
3. Give reasons with detail - use specific words
4. I write most topic and high frequency words correctly.
5. I use capital letters, full stops, question marks and exclamation marks correctly.
6. Use persuasive language

County Life is better than City Life

I strongly believe that Country life is better than city life.

                                            Having Fun!

In the Countryside it is FUN because you can MAKE lots of tree-houses and play in them for EVER. Furthermore you can have sleepovers in the tree-house, go to creeks and take the Hinaki out and catch some eels. Another point is you get to throw stones into the river and watch them PLOP, or skim stones into rivers and watch them BOUNCE. My last reason is doing horse riding with your family and going to the creek and through the creek if the water is LOW!

                                                 Experience!

In the Country you can EXPERIENCE more stuff in your life like seeing animals that you haven’t seen before in your life. For an example you can experience more space because city life is so close together because there is more people. ( More Space in country life )

                                              Explore!

Another thing is that you can EXPLORE more in the country. You can play tag in the trees and EXPLORE the things that you don’t know about trees, like if you didn’t know that trees have sap in them and sometimes the sap comes out. One more thing is... that you EXPLORE the country.

I believe that country life is WAY better than city life, and I reckon that you should live there because it is GLORYUMPTIOUS!!!

Chapter 1 : The day we were creeped out!

One night when I was fast asleep, something woke me up. Was it the creepy noises? The light in my door or my open window? 
“What, where am I?” my friend Henrietta said.

“Ahhh, you scared me,” I said back.

I started walking to Sophia's room, then I saw Sophia, she had her legs crossed and her hand was holding a torch. I went in and said “ What is the matter?”

Sophia said back, “Something woke me up and I hear creepy noises."

I replied back, “Same with us.”

So we looked in my Mum and Dad’s bedroom to say what happened to us BUT their room was EMPTY. 
“How scary,” Henrietta said.

Chapter 2 : The search for Mum and Dad!

As quick as I could, I called Sienna, Kalae and Emma and said “My Mum and Dad are missing, can you help me find them?”

My friends replied back, “Of course we would.”

Once my friends got back, me and my friends and Sophia looked all around the house. Once everyone looked around the house we sat on the couch and all we could find was a little teddy bear (with one eye) ( It was creepy). So we threw it out the window and my dog ate it up...IT WAS GONE! 
Once everybody was sitting down on the couch I got  a phone call from Cowman (Cowman is the mean guy in the story) and he said, “Come to my place at midnight, and if you don’t come your Mum and Dad will be staying with me.” 
“Dirty Cowman, so will we go at midnight?” said Henrietta.

“Yes, we will go at midnight,” I said back.

Chapter 3: Mum and Dad!

So I set my alarm for 11.00 (I did it an hour before, because the girls have to get their makeup on). So when it was 11.00, the girls woke up and put their makeup on. At 11.30, we were in the car, Sophia drove us to a place and up on the top of the building it said Kidnappers Place! 
“How FREAKY,” said Henrietta.

“You are right,” I said. 
So we went in the backdoor and we tiptoed up the stairs. A few minutes later Cowman appeared in front of the door. 
“Do you want your mum and dad, and who are these people?” said Cowman.

“Yes please, and also they are my backup people,” I said.

“Paper, scissors, rock to see who wins,” said Cowman.

“Of course,” I replied back.

Guess what I did? Rock and he did Scissors! 
“Ha ha, Cowman,” I said.
That was the best day of my life.                  
What a Nightmare!

Area - Week 6

On May 25th we did some maths about Area with our seats. You are probably thinking - What? Area With Our Seats!
We learnt about Rows and Columns. Rows are across and Column are Parallels.  But Mrs Miller said it could go like this Row - Right Across and Column - Come on down.   
We did it like this: we would get our class and Mrs Miller would say make 5 rows and 6 columns. 
So my class would do 5 rows and 6 columns and then we would do the maths which would be 5 x 6 = 30 and we kept doing that for about 30 minutes (It was fun) Mrs Miller made it fun but we were still learning.  It was sort of tricky but once you got the hang of it, you got the hang of it, it was sort of easy.  Area helps builders with building  houses making a pool and all sorts of things.

Rotorua - Week 1

“Yeah day 2” I said as I was rubbing my eyes after a long day.  

“I’m staying in my bed” I say.  There we are playing on our i pods and phones. 10 minutes later we’re still playing in our PJs and so is mum and dad. 

5 minutes later I was reading a book.  One hour later we’re in the car going out to do some shopping and some fun things.  
First we were heading to the agrodome.

We went on the shweep and that’s when you race each other on a bike around this loop but you aren't on a bike, you were in this capsule with pedals and gears.  Sophia ‘s time was one minute and 45 seconds and my time was one minute and 46 seconds. Sophia bet me by a second.

Next we did the big swing and you're in these sleeping bags, you go up about 40m in the sky. When you're 40m up in the air, someone will pull a yellow rope and then SWING! A way you go swinging in the sky, I was screaming my lungs out.

After that, we did the Free Fall Xtreme and its like you're flying because you lay down on this square mat and you have this suit on, when you fall on the mat you blow up and the wind is so powerful that you can see your cheekbones and my cheeks are so chubby. Someone is holding your legs so you don’t float away and a man is saying what to do.

After that we went to the bike tracks and there were lots of bumps and I fell off my bike. Then we went up to grade 3 (intermediate) and it was down a mountain of woods and there’s this track that you can go on (around the mountain of woods) and when I went down it I got a sore bottom. After that we did the Dipper and it’s a smaller version of grade 3. When we were at the finish we washed our bikes.

After that we went back to our cabin to get ready for a spa. When we were in the spa we saw a teapot, and then when we were having lots of fun when we looked up and there was a kind of pink smoke covering all the stars. 

After we had a swim we went to bed.

Pirate Ship

This is the Pirate ship from splash planet, it got burnt down by these silly boys. It is sad because it was made in 1967 and now it's 2015.  My mum was walking the dogs down the park at six o’clock like usual and she saw a big ball of smoke in the sky and then she saw fire.

She went around this walk that we always do and she thought that the jungle jeeps were on fire but the pirate ship caught on fire. They cut a hole in the fence and went in and then put it on fire. This man saw four boys running away from it and laughing and he told my mum.  Once my mum told me I felt like crying because it was made before I was born, it was closed all the time because it was direlect and the owners at Splash Planet thought it might break.  I think that the canoes were underneath so they probably caught on fire is well.

On Monday during Easter, I went to Henrietta's birthday party and we went to Splash Planet and when we went on the train we went past the pirate ship and it made me feel sad because all you see is burnt wood and then you make a connection that silly boys put it on fire.    

All about this year...

This year my teacher is Mrs Miller. We have had a fabulous year in room 12.  I think you would like to be in Mrs Miller's class next year because she helps you with whatever you get stuck on, like if you go up to her and say that you are confused she will explain it to you but not tell you the answer.

Mrs Miller is fun at camp and when your just about to go to bed she will read you a story.  At camp it was really fun because we played spotlight, went tubing down the river and we caught eels in the hinaki.  We cooked our dinner at the fire-pit and on the billys. It was very FUN at camp.

Mrs Miler is in KEA house and I'm in there to.  My sister Sophia is a KEA house leader and Mrs Miller's daughter is a Kea house leader as well.  KEA HOUSE ROCKS!

Super Woman

Super woman lives a dark places. Super woman has  tunnels to get to the other places. Super woman’s bedroom has one pole on the ceiling that her bats could hang off the pole.On the floor it is really damp it is like you just stepped in a puddle. She has posters in her room that covers the whole room. Did I say to you that it was underground? Well if I didn't, then it was underground.

Super woman has a bright blue top that glimmers in the dark and also glows in the night too, so if someone is in trouble then they know when Super woman is coming. She has huge wings like angel wings, the angel wings are as black as smoke. Super woman has a bow and arrow, and it came with a few arrows on the bow and arrow. The string was so thin that it could be used as dental floss. Super woman has bullets around her waist, they are bullets that blow up when it hits the ground because in the bullet it has a sensor. So when it hits the ground it knows when to blow up,but if it hits the ground in front of you then you need to run away but if you don’t run away then you will be dead.  She had a little gun that wrapped around her leg, the gun shoots those bullets that I just explained to you. On her right arm she has a gauntlet and on her left foot she has one too. She has a another gauntlet. A  gauntlet is something that glows in the dark and shoots strength out to make something break like how she gets in to her underground house. You will probably be thinking that it would break and then you won’t have to use it ever again. But here is the point, when she goes in my house. she gets in there and then it becomes the roof. So the roof closes up when she pushes a button. Super woman has bright blonde hair, it looks like gold that was found in a treasure chest with a few black streaks. Super woman has big bright lips, the colour looks like blood. Super woman has a pitch black mole on the side of her nose .It makes her talk to her brother or sister, her sisters name is Lucy and her brothers name is Captain America. In our Super hero family I am the oldest. Then it is Captain America. Then it is Lucy. Super woman has a dark blue boot on her right foot and remember on the left foot it had that gauntlet that I just told you about. Super woman has a really dark coloured mask that is as dark as the night sky. She has dark blue earrings that glimmer in the sun and shine in your face.

Super woman has a scanner to check if they are nice people or bad people. Super woman goes into angry mode when she scans the person and then it says that the person is bad. After a while she starts to fight with the bad people and she always wins. Super woman is the most amazing girl in the whole entire world.

Super woman’s powers are totally awesome, one of her powers is that she can shoot lasers from her eyes. She can be invisible so that nobody can see her, so she can get into places with out people knowing that she is going there. She can shoot strength from her fist and if you point it up to the sky then it will shoot into the sky and go into space and probably break a planet. Then pieces of the planet will come down onto you.
